A rather grand name for a rather grand garden. The 'Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh' is a confusing name for a collection of four botanic gardens in Scotland. Together with gardens in Edinburgh, Logan and Dawyck - Benmore is a renowned centre for plant research, conservation and education.
Benmore is a three hour drive from Edinburgh or two hours from Glasgow and is well worth a visit. Set in the mountainous Argyll area of Scotland, it commands views of the locks and hillocks of one of Scotland's most scenic areas.

Benmore's 120 acres feature a world-famous collection of plants from the Orient and the Himalaya to North and South America. Covering plants, building and sculptures from Japan, Chile, Tasmania and Bhutan - the gardens have a unique global aspect and feel distinctly different from other parks and gardens.
